About the Wells Fargo Academic Leaders Fellowship Program

The Wells Fargo Academic Leaders Fellowship Program is a highly selective, full scholarship for Pell-eligible high school seniors. The scholarship will be awarded to 20 high school seniors in 2018, with the intent of promoting their academic excellence and leadership development through college graduation.

Selected Fellows will be eligible for up to five years of funding to complete their bachelor’s program. Fellows will receive funding for the full cost of attendance that is not already covered by other financial aid, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Additionally, Fellows will be paired with a mentor within the field of study and industry that they wish to pursue.

The Scholarship Application Process and Timeline

The scholarship application opened on Monday, January 15, 2018. All students must complete the Wells Fargo Academic Leaders Fellowship Program application by Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at 5:00 PM PST. Finalists will be invited in March to complete the Finalist Supplement. Recipients will be announced in late-April, and they will attend the inaugural Summer Leadership Summit in Charlotte, NC June 27-July 1, 2018.

In order to apply, a student must first create a MyWFALFP Profile. The MyWFALFP Profile is a student's portal for everything related to The Wells Fargo Academic Leaders Fellowship Program, including the application, and – if he/she is selected as a Fellow – all associated support services.

Eligibility:

To apply, students must be:

  • A high school senior with a Spring 2018 graduation date
  • Pell-eligible, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • A US citizen, national, or permanent resident
  • In good academic standing with a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)

Additionally, students must submit either an SAT or ACT score.

Selected Wells Fargo Fellows must enroll full-time, in a four-year degree program, at a US accredited, not-for-profit, private or public college or university. Failure to enroll in the Fall of 2018 will lead to forfeiture of the scholarship.

As part of this intensive co-curricular programming, Wells Fargo Fellows will receive personal and professional development training, access to financial capabilities workshops, mentoring, internship and career exploration, and participate in numerous community engagement opportunities. Fellows must participate in all Wells Fargo webinars and attend the firm's annual Summer Leadership Summits in order to maintain funding eligibility.
