It's time to clean up our campus- students, staff, family and community members are all encouraged to help - we'll be putting up new banners, adding mulch and planting bulbs in addition to picking up trash and pulling weeds.

Saturday, October 21 8am-11am - Meeting near F-1 which is near the entrance of the school (Ruskin side)

We highly recommend you bring gloves - if possible, wheelbarrows and shovels would be helpful. Grab some friends and come make a difference!

Tickets go on sale OCTOBER 16th at phhsdrama.com or at the school bank.

In the fall play, I DON'T HAVE A CLUE, when when Carol Robinson agrees to host a murder mystery dinner party for her husband’s work clients, she expects to hide clues, welcome guests dressed up in 1920s flapper and mobster outfits, serve up delicious food, and even have her husband fake his death at the right time.  What she gets, however, is not what she expects, as phone lines go dead, uninvited guests sneak in, a second body is found, and her youngest daughter Corky shows up with $75,000 in cash.
What is a hostess to do? Well, continue the party of course, pretending that these new events are all part of the mystery while trying to figure out what’s really going on. With the help of some vacuum salesmen, some bumbling police officers, three kids, and a grumpy cook, the answers become clear as the guests get a lesson in history and criminology tied into one.

Monday, August 21st will be a very dark day for Piedmont Hills students and families as the moon’s path blocks nearly all of the sun, creating a dramatic and very rare total Solar Eclipse! Beginning at about 9:00am and progressing to near full darkness by 10:15am, day will become night (… for several minutes) and no doubt, most eyes will be tempted to look skyward in wonder!

However, it is critically important that every one of our Pirate community members be aware of the need to protect their gaze, using a dedicated Solar Filter (nope, your sunglasses will not protect your eyes!). Unfiltered, the sun’s ultraviolet rays can seriously and often permanently damage the retina of the eye!

We will be on a regular bell schedule and students will change classes between 9:14am – 9:20am. They will be reminded to exercise caution during the passing period. During the estimated time of totality students will still be in class and safe from exposure. Please spend a few minutes with your son/daughter and discuss the importance of practicing safety by not looking directly at the sun without appropriate protection.

Here’s a great YouTube clip that explains safe viewing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LqMN3cVxUk4

ATTENDANCE MATTERS
Parents and families are essential partners in promoting good attendance because they have the bottom-line responsibility for making sure their children get to school every day. Just as parents should focus on how their children are performing academically, they have a responsibility to set expectations for good attendance and to monitor their children’s absences, so that missed days don’t add up to academic trouble. Piedmont Hills High School along with the District has partner together to Campaign for Attendance Awareness Month. Attendance Matters: On Time. All Day. Every Day. Now that the Pirate Way!

  • Make getting students to school on time every day a top priority.
  • Alert schools and community agencies to barriers that keep kids from attending class.
  • Ask for and monitor data on chronic absence.
  • Demand action to address systemic barriers that may be causing large numbers of students to miss too much school.

Families of students from our feeder schools (Sierramont, Piedmont Middle and Morrill) that live within the boundaries of Piedmont Hills High School must complete the registration packet for enrollment.  A special time for enrollment has been set aside during the week of June 19th. Please review the schedule to find out when you should come to the school and turn in all the forms. Registration forms can be found under the Registrars tab. If we do not have a completed enrollment packet before school begins, your student will not be able to pick a their schedule onAugust 2nd and maybe at risk for not getting the elective classes requested.

Hey fellow Pirates,

Need a distraction from the real world? Need something to cheer about?  Then join the PHHS Performing Arts Department as it presents the outrageous, triumphant musical, "9 to 5" on Wednesday, March 29th - Saturday, April 1st.

"9 to 5" tells the story of three unlikely friends who learn how to take control of their lives amidst personal and professional challenges, and
discover that they just might be stronger than they know.

Thursday, March 30th  at 7pm

Friday, March 31st at 7pm

Saturday, April 1st at 7pm

Based on the hit 1980 movie with Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin and Dolly Parton, this is the hilarious, outrageous and thought-provoking story of three female office workers in 1979 who take on their sexist, lying, egotistical, bigoted boss. With an upbeat musical score including pop, country, jazz and Broadway tunes, and a large ensemble cast, this show will make you cheer!

All students arriving in vehicles must use the designated student drop-off areas.  The faculty parking lot on Ruskin Drive is not a drop-off area.  Instead, use the designated drop-off parallel to the street.  You may also use the drop-off area in the student parking lot.  It will be safer for students and employees if all of our PHHS community participates in this effort.
